A Motorized Gimbal in Your Pocket

HONOR's Robot Phone is the first smartphone with a built-in 4-degree-of-freedom titanium gimbal, enabling physical camera movement during shots. The system uses a 2.6g titanium motor capable of 360-degree rotation per second, paired with a Super Steel Flip Motor for high torque. HONOR claims the gimbal's size is 65% smaller while offering 200% greater structural strength.

ARRI Cinema Tech Meets Mobile

Partnering with ARRI, HONOR brings professional filmmaking tools to the Robot Phone. The 200MP main camera supports 10-bit ARRI LogC3 recording, ARRI Wide Gamut 3, and preloaded ARRI Looks for cinematic color grading. A 200MP periscope telephoto (2.7x zoom) and 50MP ultra-wide (122 FOV) complete the setup. The phone enhances dynamic range up to 14 stops and reduces video noise by 8dB.

AI Tracking and Robotic Automation

YOYO Robot Mode combines AI tracking, gesture control, and the gimbal's movement for hands-free operation. The camera can follow subjects via voice localization or AI Live-Tracking, useful for solo creators. Modes like Tilt Lock, FPV, and AI SpinShot automate complex shots. Developers can build apps using the open Agent Skills interface for gimbal and AI integration.

Flagship Hardware for Demanding Workloads

The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip and custom cooling system handle extended 4K recording. A 7,060mAh silicon-carbon battery supports 120W wired and 50W wireless charging. The 6.31-inch LTPO OLED hits 6,800 nits peak brightness, with 4,320Hz PWM dimming and NanoCrystal Shield protection.

Pricing and Availability

Pre-orders in China started August 12, 2026 at 8:30 PM, with sales from August 18 at 10:08 AM. Configurations:

12GB RAM + 512GB storage: CNY 9,999 (~RM6,059)

16GB RAM + 1TB storage: CNY 12,999 (~RM7,877)

Buyers receive lifetime YOYO AI SVIP access and a complimentary accessory pack (magnetic stand, lanyard, and 120W all-in-one charger).

Verdict: Niche Innovation or Mainstream Leap?

The Robot Phone's gimbal and ARRI integration push mobile filmmaking closer to professional workflows. However, its 248g weight and China-only launch may limit appeal. For creators, the automated tracking and LogC3 support could justify the premium-if third-party apps expand its robotic potential.
