Astera Launches QuikBeam Connect for Permanent Track Lighting at IBC
Astera introduces QuikBeam Connect, a track lighting adapter for permanent installations, eliminating the need for batteries in stationary setups.

What is QuikBeam Connect?
Astera unveiled QuikBeam Connect at IBC 2026, a product in its new 'Connect Series' designed for permanent installations. The system centers on the TracklightAdapter, a housing that allows a QuikBeam spotlight to slot into standard track lighting systems, eliminating the need for batteries or external power cables in stationary setups.
How It Works
The TracklightAdapter mounts around an existing QuikBeam fixture, wiring it directly into a track's AC supply. According to Astera's Sebastian, the swap takes a few minutes-the QuikBeam housing has to be opened with a few screws, but nothing beyond what any installer could handle. The adapter supports two track formats: EUTRACK MultiAdapter (common in Europe) and H-Type (US standard), enabling venues to integrate QuikBeam fixtures without rewiring.
Key Specifications
The QuikBeam Connect retains the original QuikBeam's Titan LED Engine, offering RGBMA color mixing and tunable white (1,750K-20,000K) with CRI/TLCI 96. Output reaches up to 2,294 lux at 3m (20W), with a 13-60 zoom range. Optional barndoors and finish choices (black, white, or custom RAL matte) are available. Wireless control options include Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, IR, UHF, and LumenRadio wireless DMX.
Why Astera Built It
According to Ben Diaz, Astera's Head of Product Management, the company had been asked to build a non-battery luminaire for a while, and QuikBeam Connect is the answer. The Connect Series provides the same color accuracy and control as the original, tailored for permanent installations. The open track standards allow venues to mix QuikBeam units into existing setups temporarily for shoots, then revert to standard fixtures afterward.
Pricing and Availability
Astera has not released official pricing, but Sebastian quoted roughly 500 for "the unit," available either as the adapter alone (for existing QuikBeam owners) or as adapter-plus-light. Shipping is expected to begin in approximately one month, with demo units already distributed to Astera's partners.
Practical Applications
The system is aimed at bars, cafes, studios, and venues with existing track lighting. Cinematographers or lighting designers can replace inadequate fixtures with QuikBeam Connect units for shoots, then reinstall the original heads afterward. The direct AC power integration removes battery management and cable clutter for permanent use.
Next Steps
Distributors will have demo units available shortly. For precise pricing and configuration details, contact Astera or authorized dealers ahead of the expected shipping date.
